Experienced Babysitter/ Caregiver Needed for Autistic Young Adult Male

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced babysitter to care for our autistic son. Our son is a bright and energetic young boy who requires specialized attention and support. We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding, and knowledgeable about autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Responsibilities:

- Provide one-on-one care and supervision for our son in our home environment, in the community, and on trips.

- Engage our son in stimulating and appropriate activities that promote his development and well-being.

- Follow a structured routine and implement strategies outlined in our son's individualized education plan (IEP) or behavior plan.

- Foster a safe and supportive environment where our son feels comfortable and encouraged to express himself.

- Communicate effectively with us regarding our son's progress, challenges, and any concerns that may arise during your time together.

Requirements:

- Prior experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.

- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and familiarity with common behaviors and challenges associated with ASD.

- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children with special needs.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to our son's unique needs and preferences.

- CPR and first aid certification preferred.

Schedule:

- Part-time position, with flexible hours based on our family's needs.

- Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

- Trips with paid mileage and lodging.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 40 per week
