It is the primary responsibility of the Cashier to provide exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty. We have several positions open: Cashier, Lead Cashier, and Supervisor. This position is available at Railroad Pass Travel Center and our new El Dorado Truck Stop/Travel Center. Great benefits available after 90-day probationary period.

• Greets customers in a timely and friendly manner in person or via the phone.
• Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debit. 
• Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. 
• Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. 
• Sorts, counts, and wraps currency and coins.
• Monitor’s checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available and that they are staffed appropriately.
• Maintains clean and orderly checkout areas. 
• Establishes or identifies prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners. 
• Calculates total payments received during an assigned time and reconciles this with total sales. 
• Stocks shelves, and marks prices on shelves and items.
• Answers customers' questions and provides information on procedures or policies.
• Notifies manager on duty of any customers concerns or complaints. 
• Performs all other job-related duties as requested. 

Required: 

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in very high-paced and stressful environment. 
• Ability to operate a POS system including handling all monetary/credit transactions. 
• Ability to access all areas of the facility. 
• Working knowledge of computerized cash registers. 
• Strong interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures.
• Possess arithmetic skills and can read, write, and speak English.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items. 
• Excellent customer service skills. 
• Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. 
• Professional appearance and demeanor. 
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
•  Must be reliable and punctual. 
• High School diploma or equivalent. 

Preferred:

• Previous cash handling experience. 
• Previous experience working in a similar setting.
