SCOPE:

The Director of Collective Impact reports to the Senior Executive Director of Market Impact. The Director plays a pivotal role in driving collaborative efforts to address complex social issues and achieve positive community outcomes. The collaborative in Chicago has a focus on the South and Far South sides of the city. The position works with diverse community partners, volunteers and leaders to improve Maternal & infant health outcomes by using an equity and social driver lens. The Director uses data-based, results-driven approaches focused on mobilizing communities.

This is a part-time grant funded position that extends through December 2025. Key responsibilities will include overseeing and managing two grant-funded projects. The Director will ensure that the projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with grant requirements. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project timelines, and reporting on project progress to the funder and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Embody adaptive leadership and establish, facilitate, and execute effective and open communication with team members
  • Model results-based leadership, execute, and facilitate results-based meetings
  • Model anti-racist behaviors and practices, center community voice and be a systems thinker
  • Utilize databased decision-making
  • Maintain understanding of current implementation challenges and develop solutions to address them * Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the collective impact framework
  • Act in a neutral role to help resolve conflict among project teams

Project Implementation and Management:

  • Lead select grant funded initiatives including the implementation of a wellness fair and new doula training and hospital integration project
  • Coordinate project activities, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation.
  • Monitor project progress and milestones, identify and address any issues or risks.
  • Manage project budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring adherence to grant funding guidelines.
  • Communicate regularly with project teams, stakeholders, and funder to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Prepare and submit project progress reports, financial reports, and other documentation as required by funder.
  • Input data monthly into market data tracker.
  • Work in collaboration with project evaluator to assess project outcomes, document lessons learned, collect success stories, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, regulations, and reporting deadlines.
  • Coordinate/ Manage external vendors, consultants, and partners as needed for project implementation.

Collective Impact Collaborative Support:

  • Support the CI Steering Committee by facilitating quarterly meetings including preparation of meeting materials, topics and following up on action commitments
  • Engage in regular communication with Market Leader and National MIH/CI Director
  • Live into Collective Impact team values
  • Work effectively in diverse, cross-sectoral teams and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Political Science, Public Health, Anthropology, Sociology, Business or Policy, or related field
  • Experience in bridge-building with different groups and stakeholders
  • Experience in leading and managing grant funded projects
  • Strong leadership/management skills with the ability to motivate staff and lead change
  • Experience in mobilizing community using clear measurable goals
  • Results Oriented-able to pivot to focused action that contributes to improving the result.
  • Equity-focused-able to have and hold discussions, and take action, regarding the role of racism, poverty and sexism in healthcare and community conditions.
  • Collective Action-ability to work with key stakeholders and leaders to make decisions and take action around a shared result
  • Understanding of maternal and child health and health systems issues
