This is a remarkable opportunity for an elementary school educator who is committed to the potential of project-based learning as an incubator/accelerator of student learning. At Marblehead Community Charter, the Humanities Teacher is responsible for more than the instruction of ELA and history. They are charged with enabling the students to discover the "So what?" of their studies, so that they can apply their learning to projects and service venues that will improve their community. At Marblehead Community Charter, the Humanities Teacher is an integral member of a 4 person grade-level teaching team. Together these professionals create integrated units of study that provide opportunities for the students to demonstrate their learning through standards driven projects. Common planning time, department PLCs, and professional development opportunities are scheduled weekly to facilitate this work.Marblehead Community Charter provides a dynamic and engaging educational environment for staff and students.
