POSITION SUMMARY:The Cybersecurity Technical Process Lead is a vital role that helps to provide the necessary assurances that any and all implemented cybersecurity tools, processes and procedures compliment Marathon Pipe Line's mission of safely and reliably operating our pipelines and growing the business. This includes ensuring compliance with all IT and regulatory requirements by implementing/managing internal standards, implementing and documenting adequate processes and procedures and regularly evaluating that internal standards, processes and procedures are being followed and continue to meet all compliance requirements. Toward this end, they will work closely with IT Services, the 3 SCADA groups and Controls & Automation to identify, budget for and implement technical solutions that protect our critical operating systems and networks without negatively impacting daily operations. This role reports up through MPL's Technical Services department but works hand-in-hand with IT Cybersecurity and IT Midstream Pipe Line Operations Technology (PLOT) in setting technical direction.
The Successful Cybersecurity Technical Process lead:
- Will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and cybersecurity best practices
- Will have a strong understanding of process controls systems, from large SCADA systems to small field controls systems
- Will have a strong understanding of data communications, as they relate to remote operations
- Can evaluate recommended cybersecurity solutions for impact on critical controls systems and MPL's ability to operate 24/7/365
- Can evaluate emerging threats for their impact on controls systems and recommend mitigating solutions
- Can recommend cybersecurity improvements that will strengthen MPL's security posture
- Will have strong teamwork skills and can work closely with different disciplines including IT, cybersecurity, SCADA, field controls and operations
- Can manage large projects and other resources
- Can communicate complex technical problems and solutions up the management chain
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma
- 2 years of experience in cybersecurity
- 2 years of experience with multi-faceted process controls systems
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in technical field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Systems Security, Electrical Engineering, Physical Sciences) or equivalent experience
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or related certifications
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Act as the technical and process liaison between MPL and IT Cybersecurity
- Act as the technical and process liaison between MPL and IT Midstream Pipe Line Operations Technology (PLOT)
- Represent MPL as a technical SME in the IT CAPP (cybersecurity risk assessment) and AGILE (cybersecurity prioritization) Processes
- Manage the work of embedded IT network administrators as they manage MPL's cybersecurity tooling
- Act as the cybersecurity technical SME for MPL's 3 SCADA groups and Controls & Automation (C&A) Process
- Help determine technical solutions to identified gaps between MPL's current processes and corporate IT Cybersecurity Standards
- Work with IT Cybersecurity to recommend cybersecurity improvements
- Function as the business review point of contact for L1, L2/3 corporate standards to ensure compliance and that operational risk is adequately factored into any requirements.
- Function as the business review point of contact for TSA Pipeline Security Directives to ensure operational risk is adequately factored into compliance requirements.
- Maintain internal standards that detail cybersecurity requirements.
- Ensure budgeting for cybersecurity needs.
- Ensure adequate cybersecurity training for anyone involved in processes that touch MPL's critical OT systems.
- Support baseline and annual security reviews/assessments.
- Manage and maintain all process documentation.
- Facilitate the annual process performance assessment (PPA).
SKILLS:- Well versed in cybersecurity principles, theory, and practical application in a critical infrastructure setting
- A thorough understanding of process control systems including SCADA, DCS and field controls
- Ability to apply project management techniques to successfully organize tasks and initiatives
- A strong technical understanding of the various cybersecurity tools
- Advanced troubleshooting, solution design and implementation skills
- Outstanding organizational and oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to quickly understand new technologies and concepts
- Ability to provide detailed reporting
- Ability to work well in a team environment
