This position can sit in Columbus, OH, Plano, TX or Jersey City, NJ. Three days a week onsite. This is a full time job and candidate must be able to work with no sponsorship.

We are seeking a skilled IBMi Administrator to join our client in managing large enterprise IBM i platforms and associated systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IBM i administration, with a focus on security and reliability. Experience with external IBM storage solutions is preferred, as is proficiency in managing and maintaining an IBM i DR environment. This is a fast paced, dynamic role with many rewarding challenges for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain the IBM i platform, ensuring its security, stability, and performance.
• Manage all aspects of IBM i security, including user access controls, authentication, and auditing.
• Understand the configuration of external IBM storage solutions for efficient data management and storage.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate IBM i systems with existing infrastructure and applications.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, implementing solutions to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, particularly regarding data security and privacy.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff as needed.
• Document procedures, configurations, and best practices for IBM i administration and maintenance.
• Stay current with advancements in IBM i technology and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to improve system performance and efficiency.
• Participate in on-call rotation schedules for after-hours support and maintenance activities.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an IBM i Administrator or similar role, with a focus on IBM i platform administration.
• Strong understanding of IBM i security principles and best practices.
• Experience with external IBM storage solutions is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with PowerHA is a plus, but not required.
• Familiarity with iCluster is required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant IBM certifications (e.g., IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM i) are advantageous. Suite, TMS Systems, CRM.
