Maple Pharmacy is Hiring a Pharmacy Technician Near Hartford, CT

Our growing pharmacy is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide excellent customer service, fill prescriptions, and perform other related duties as assigned. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for ensuring the accurate dispensing and timely delivery of medications to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the pharmacist in filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently
  • Counting, measuring, and packaging medications
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and transfer calls to the pharmacist
  • Maintain accurate patient and prescription records
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners
  • Verify patient information and insurance coverage
  • Process payments and manage cash register
  • Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve issues related to medication orders
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to work with a high level of accuracy
  • Proficient with computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds

Preferred:

  • Completion of a pharmacy technician program or equivalent experience
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcare Association (NHA) certification
