General Laborer at Maple Leaf Farms

Location: Kansasville, WI 

Salary: $19.28/hour

Schedule: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, with weekend rotations (Saturday and Sunday for a few hours)

Maple Leaf Farms is currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a General Laborer at our Wisconsin Farm located in Kansasville, WI. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and productivity of our breeder ducks, ensuring the highest quality of care and product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Egg Handling: Inspection, picking up, and grading of eggs based on cleanliness, shape, and integrity.
• Duck Care: Feeding breeder ducks, weighing out food and supplements accurately, and walking with the ducks to reduce stress during feeding times.
• Barn Maintenance: Shoveling and replacing bedding chips/shavings, maintaining a clean environment across 4 temperature-controlled barns.
• Physical Tasks: The role involves a significant amount of physical work, including lifting (up to 50 pounds), and dealing with dust and down within the barns.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background check upon hiring.
• Due to biosecurity measures, candidates cannot own birds of any type, chickens, or pigs.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds and comfortable with dirty, physically demanding work.
• Strong work history, demonstrating reliability and commitment to job responsibilities.
• Patience and a gentle approach to handling ducks, ensuring their well-being and reducing stress.
