Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Naval Configuration Specialist to join our team at SURFMEPP in Portsmouth, Va.
Job Summary: The Surface Maintenance Engineering, Planning, Program (SURFMEPP) maintains, monitors, and refines Class-wide and Individual-Ship Maintenance Plans for all non-nuclear surface ships to ensure material readiness for the projected service life, develop life-cycle strategies to address system upgrades, and fully implement the Class Maintenance Plan into each surface ship's maintenance schedule and availability planning process. SURFMEPP is headquartered at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists with SURFMEPP Command special projects
- Validate perceived ship maintenance issues by conducting data driven analysis, presenting results in various forms such as Pareto charts, Venn diagrams, histograms, pie charts
- Harvest and analyze data from various Navy ship maintenance databases
- Demonstrates ability to follow direction and work semi-independently or within a team
- Requires a BS Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience in a Data Center Environment and a minimum of eight (5) years of related professional experience in program support of a DoD/Navy programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience working in and data management within the Configuration Data Managers Database – Open Architecture such as (CDMD-OA).
- Possess a wide range of experience using relational, network, hierarchical, object-oriented databases and demonstrated experience with Platform Logistic Management (PLM) software in support of performing comparative analysis.
- Experience with surface ship configuration management processes, i.e., RIC, ASI Files, RAD Web, etc.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, and works well in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, attention to detail, and superb customer interaction
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
- Demonstrated ability to develop, test and deploy effective intranet sites
- Demonstrated ability to pull data and run reports with the Configuration Data Managers Database – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA)
- Familiarity in developing, maintaining, and implementing MS SharePoint applications, reports, and other related programming
- Strong knowledge of Surface Ship Class Maintenance Planning processes
- Strong knowledge of the Surface Ship Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
- US Citizen
- Active Secret Security Clearance, An interim is acceptable to start
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
