SUMMARYThe Marine Pile Driving Foreman assists in the planning, safety, and execution of daily tasks, as well as directly supervises craft employees. They will work closely with the Project Superintendent to meet production and schedule goals.

We offer competitive wages and subsistence for this position. The current work rotation is six ten-hour days per week with extended time off granted on a requested basis. This position is for the Belle Chase, Louisiana, area, although applicants from other states are encouraged to apply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Proficient in marine pile driving techniques for large cylinder and sheet piles using various diesel and hydraulic impact and vibratory hammers.
  • Ability to read and understand work/pile layouts and to determine work procedures and work sequences to meet construction schedules using the capabilities of the equipment and assigned personnel.
  • Provide leadership, direction, organization, and motivation to employees: assign, oversee, and follow up on the performance of all types of marine construction work.
  • Assist the Project Team in the development of Work Element Plans.
  • Supervise implementation, including checklists for equipment set-up, rigging equipment, and materials, inspections, audits, emergency response, hurricane preparations, etc.
  • Maintain accurate field notes and produce daily reports.
  • Submit weekly payroll correctly cost-coded to the project team.
  • Work with Project staff to develop and maintain the Project Schedule
  • Enforce all Federal, State, and Company safety rules
  • Conduct planning meetings and pre-operational checks of equipment and site safety
  • Participate in near-miss reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
  • Candidates must have at least five (5) years of experience as a foreman in marine pile driving, including an understanding of quality control related to pile work for marine construction projects.
  • Combi Wall/ Protection Cell/Trestle experience is a plus. Experience working with Marine Equipment is required.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent prioritization, organizational, and delegation skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position, including:

  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on marine vessels in water
  • Able to safely execute duties in and around heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites
  • Able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, personal floatation devices, safety glasses, respirators, etc.)
