Job Description
Role Summary
As a Demand Planner, you will be responsible for analyzing and forecasting customer demand to ensure optimal inventory levels and meet customer service goals. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain, you will develop accurate demand forecasts and drive effective inventory management strategies using data analysis, statistical modeling, and market trends.
Main Tasks
  • Develop account or brand-specific forecasts for internal sales and operations planning, incorporating replenishment data, point-of-sale data, sales promotions, and marketing plans.
  • Maintain and manage product history and accurate forecasting, including promotional demand.
  • Analyze internal demand streams and categorize them according to demand patterns.
  • Assist in improving demand forecasting accuracy by determining appropriate statistical forecast algorithms.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, research, and development teams to incorporate intelligence into demand planning processes.
  • Develop and implement promotional and pricing strategies based on demand forecasts.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations teams to align demand forecasts with production and procurement plans.
  • Monitor and analyze demand patterns, seasonality, and market dynamics to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct regular demand planning meetings with cross-functional teams to review forecast accuracy and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to measure forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and customer service metrics.
  • Continuously improve demand planning processes and systems to enhance forecast accuracy and optimize inventory management.
  • Provide input and insights for new product launches, product lifecycle management, and inventory optimization initiatives based on industry trends and emerging technologies related to demand planning and forecasting.
Your Profile

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related role.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in demand forecasting techniques based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights.
  • Ability to use statistical modeling to generate accurate demand forecasts.
  • Experience in integrating demand forecasts with supply chain planning processes.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and strategies.
  • Continuous improvement mindset to enhance demand planning processes and systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MRP systems for demand planning processes and data management.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and management.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Preffered Software - APO / Demantra / GAINS / SO99 / SAP IBP
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level demand planning tools and software.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to provide insights for business decisions.
  • Experience in managing demand planning processes at different organizational levels.
