Mankiewicz Coatings is Hiring an Industrial Painter Near Charleston, SC

Mankiewicz celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2020. Our long-established company has been producing and selling high-quality industrial coatings since 1895 and is now one of the most successful globally-active coatings companies. From small manufacturers to large global corporations, Mankiewicz is active in the automotive, aviation, and general industry markets.

Currently recruiting for two positions - one in Atlanta, GA, and another in Charleston, SC. Ideal candidates must either live in one of these areas or be willing to move to one of these areas.

Core Responsibilities:

Technical support of existing business

  • Monitor status of paint lines through frequent visits and constant communication
  • Monitor on line results of new incoming paint batches
  • Adjust paint at customer sites as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels vs customer needs
  • Provide ongoing training and recommendations to customers
  • Lead and facilitate customer complaint resolution

Technical support of new business

  • Presentation of new products and their advantages to the customer according to the customers’ processes and requirements.
  • Perform paint line audits
  • Coordinate and perform pre-trial studies
  • Support on-line paint trails
  • Facilitate AAR and PPAP processes on customer parts

Support of Automotive, US and global groups

  • Timely and detailed reports
  • Provide support as needed to other groups and other regions
  • Monitor technical trends (coatings, application techniques and application equipment).
  • Monitor competitive activities and products
  • Contribute to automotive OEM program mapping activities

Other responsibilities:

  • Attend internal company meetings and give presentations related to regional activities
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Requires flexibility and understanding that this position may be required to perform duties outside the duties listed above in order to meet the mission and goals of Mankiewicz Coatings.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required, Bachelors degree preferred
  • Existing automotive industry experience preferred
  • Existing technical knowledge of coatings preferred
  • Knowledge of application techniques and equipment (nozzles, piston pump, double diaphragm pumps) preferred.
  • Frequent travel to customer facilities is required (up to 70%). Must be willing to travel via any type of transportation - vehicle, plane, train, etc.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak publicly with confidence and poise.
  • Strong sense of ambition, self-motivation and self-discipline.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven track record in effective customer relationship management.
  • Capable of effective conflict resolution.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
  • Must be able to mix paints, use paint sprayers and other equipment to efficiently and effectively perform the job.
