Manitowoc County District Attorney's Office is seeking a Victim Witness Coordinator. This position provides information and assistance to crime victims and witnesses, maintains and updates victim forms to remain in compliance with State law, assists victim in understanding and exercising rights under the law. This position will:

• Provides information and education about the criminal court system and victim rights to crime victims and witnesses. Including but not limited to; information and referral to community resources, information and education on exercising their rights under the law, providing case status updates.
• Assesses daily criminal bail hearing to determine victims and contacts those victims within established time lines. Assists those victims in exercising their rights under the law by acting as a liaison between the victim and the District Attorney's Office
• Assists victims in requesting restitution and return of property. Reviews and monitors submitted restitution claims and keeps victims advised of the status and disposition of requests.
• Provides information and support to victims and witnesses during the criminal proceedings. Assists with travel arrangements and meeting special needs of victims and witnesses.

A high school diploma and whatever combination of additional education and work experience provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Familiarity with the court process is preferred.
