POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of CHAP ProgramManager is responsible for improving the quality of patient encounters atvillage clinics through training and clinical supervision of Maniilaq CHAP's.
Facilitates teamwork throughout the CHAP Program with particular attention toassigned villages. Travels to villages to evaluate, train and provide coverage.
This position may be based in the village or Kotzebue.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
1.Maintains routinecontact with assigned village clinics.
2.Models above theline behavior and communicates / interacts with City and IRA offices regardingclinic issues.
3.Makes 3 C / I visits to assigned village and one visit toeach remaining village per year to accomplish training and support activities(utilizing C / I village checklist).
4.Reviewspatient-encounter forms (PEFs) from assigned villages : Monitor thoroughness ofdocumentation and practices within scope and correct use of medical standingorders (MSOs).
5.Participates inCHAP team plan including planning, monitoring and data collection.
6.Participates inmulti-disciplinary work teams that support CHAPs and improve program operations.
7.Assists CHAPswith academic opportunities.
8.Coordinates and / orconducts Pre-session Training.
9.Responsible forone or more of these activities to be divided among Coordinator / Instructors :
a.Develops trainingcurricula as needed and delivers courses for CME
b.Maintainstraining files(CMEs) for all CHPs
c.Maintainsclinical-visit files for all clinics
11.Participate instatewide CHAP Program efforts that affect Maniilaq CHP’s, on one or more ofthe following :
a.Academic ReviewCommittee
b.CHAM RevisionCommittee
c.CHAP Training CenterReview & Approval Committee
12.Participates inmultidisciplinary inspections that ensure Joint Commission accreditation ofvillage clinics.
13.Assists assigned clinicswith properly submitting maintenance work orders and follows them to completion.
Job Qualifications : MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma orequivalent plus must be Board Certified and a Community Health Practitioner(CHP) in good standing.
Two years ofclinical practice experience.Trainingexperience preferred.Knowledge ofInupiaq culture, language and customs preferred.
Must be innovative and open to newideas.Have a positive outlook and beable to interact with a diverse group of co-workers and patients.
Dependable,open, honest, willing to take that extra minute to give feedback in a warm andcaring way.
