POSITION SUMMARY
Provides first line healthcare (emergency, acute, chronic, and preventative) at Maniilaq Associationsvillage health clinics.
As directed by the CHAP Manager or their designee,travels to villages frequently with periods of work away from home. ProvidesCHAP services in home village when not on assignment in another village.
Frequentlyworks in clinics with minimal staffing and support in order maintain healthservices. Provides on-call coverage for after-hours and emergencies.
Reportsdirectly to the CHAP Manager and when traveling is expected to integrate ontoteams supervised by a Clinic Supervisor.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct observationof a credentialed Community Health Practitioner and / or other authorizedobservers by CHAP Manager approval only :
As directed by the CHAP Manager or their designee, travels to villages served by Maniilaq Association to provide health care services to residents.
May remain in each village for days or weeks as needed.
a.Evaluation andtreatment of acute problems.
b.Report patients to MHC providers per practiceguidelines. May report to other MHC licensed staff as appropriate.
6. 6. Helps maintainP.O.C. and D.E.A. controlled drug logs.
8. 8. Provides directobservation and guidance of new hire and lower level CHA’s.
Job Qualifications : MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
CHA II :
Must also have completed Session II training. Under the SupervisingPhysician must complete and maintain MSO test’s indicated by level of training.
Must attend training as scheduled. Must work toward and maintain CHAP BoardCertification. Must be willing to travel as directed and willing to providehealth services on a routine and emergency basis.
Must have the ability toprovide services under stressful situations.Ability to lift 50lbs., stand and or sit for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to speak Inupiaq desirable.
CHA III :
All of the abovequalifications for CHA II plus successful completion of Session III training.Under the Supervising Physician must complete and maintain MSO test’s indicatedby level of training.
CHA IV :
All of the abovequalifications for CHA III plus successful completion of Session IV training. Underthe Supervising Physician must complete and maintain MSO test’s indicated bylevel of training.
CHP :
All of the abovequalifications for CHA IV and Preceptorship asrequired to maintain current credentialing as a Community Health Practitioner.
Under the Supervising Physician must completeand maintain all MSO tests.
