JOB DESCRIPTION for:

Materials Expeditor/Handler

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Pay Scale: $17.00-$20.00 per hour DOE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to Read, Write and Speak English
  • Ability to perform mid-level math functions accurately (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions)
  • Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and directly with co-workers and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Stand and walk throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and power tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes, and principles.
  • 2 years of experience within the manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge/experience working with hazmat materials (Paints, Solvents and Adhesives)
  • Experience working with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Ability to identify, organize, estimate, and recognize differences or similarities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with lot traceability.
  • Forklift experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pick, package, and move products (finished goods, hardware, raw materials etc.) throughout the facility to their designated work centers including loading materials into our Fastems system.
  • Verify incoming materials and hardware for accuracy including size, quantity, and proper documentation.
  • Track and maintain an accurate inventory of all finished goods, hardware, components, and raw materials.
  • Open containers and/or unpackage materials using steel cutters, crowbars, claw hammers, or other hand tools as necessary.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or with a forklift.
  • Document lot traceability through inventory tags, labels and other documentation.
  • Operate industrial forklift, electric hoist, dolly, or pallet jack as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a plant environment to include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. Safety Glasses must be worn in all required areas. Safety Toe (Steel or Kevlar) shoes or boots must be worn at all times, while working in the manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, ear protection is provided if needed.
