Recognizing that education is a shared responsibility, the Community School Facilitator oversees the planning and execution of the community school strategy to incorporate the vision and unique priorities of the local community in support of student achievement and well-being, as well as stakeholder engagement.

Partners with stakeholders, including students, parents, community partners, school administrators, educators, and staff, to create programs and design systems and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of the school community. Elicits stakeholder participation and feedback by utilizing collaborative approaches and data gathering, including needs assessments, surveys, listening models/systems, and opportunities for dialogue and discussion to positively impact decision-making and foster an effective and welcoming learning environment. Develops tools and processes to measure progress, takes corrective steps when necessary, and drives continuous improvement and positive outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, plus at least two years of progressively responsible experience in community organizing, education, health, or social work, or family-centered work setting.
  • Minimum two years experience of related work experience in community organizing, education, health or social work, or family-centered work setting.
  • Knowledgeable about community-based resources.

Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Leads the school-level implementation of community school strategy by engaging with stakeholders and networks with community-based resources and agencies to develop systems and programs in service to students, parents, and community members to impact student achievement and well-being.
  • Sets up regular listening sessions and discussion opportunities to obtain information related to the needs of students, parents, educators, and staff members and pinpoints gaps in assistance needed.
  • In collaboration with stakeholder groups, creates and deploys assessments to identify services needed.

Specified Length/Hours of Position:

  • This is a grant-funded salaried position, and continued employment beyond the grant is contingent upon funding.
  • This is a non-affiliated 228-day salaried position, 40 hours per week schedule.

Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time
