Job Title: Produce Specialist

As a Produce Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that our customers receive the freshest and most delicious produce available.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate individual to join our team as a Produce Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our produce department, including ordering, quality control, merchandising, and customer service. You will work closely with our suppliers to source the best products available while maintaining our commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing practices. This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
▪ Order high-quality fruits and vegetables from local farms and suppliers, as well as national distributors.
▪ Inspect incoming shipments to ensure freshness, quality, and adherence to food safety standards.
▪ Implement effective merchandising strategies to showcase our produce and drive sales.
▪ Train and mentor team members on proper handling and care of produce items.
▪ Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking efforts to ensure a constant supply of fresh products.
▪ Assist customers with product selection, provide information about seasonal offerings, and offer cooking or preparation tips when needed.
▪ Collaborate with other departments to create cross-promotional opportunities and enhance the overall shopping experience.

Qualifications:
▪ Previous experience working with fresh produce in a retail or grocery setting preferred.
▪ Strong knowledge of different types of fruits and vegetables, including seasonal availability, varieties, and optimal storage conditions.
▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
▪ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
▪ Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
▪ Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
