Hours: vary to support events. Shifts are typically weekends (not to exceed 27 hours a week)
To perform routine janitorial duties and/or assist in the set-up, tear-down and cleanup of furniture, equipment for events held primarily at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, The Powel Crosley Estate, and/or the Premier Sports Campus. Position will work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts.
Working Conditions
Indoors/Outdoors; high noise environment, hands on objects, tools, or controls. Hazardous equipment, standing, lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, climbing, carrying up to 50 lbs. alone, 100 lbs. with assistance. Overnight assignments. Ability to adapt to extreme temperatures, such as working in outdoor areas that are not climate controlled. Performance review takes place after 90 days, which includes assessment for potential to advance to Event Technician II (OPS).
Essential Duties

Assists with set-ups, tear-downs, and clean-up prior to, during and at the end of events.
Will be trained to set up or build portable dance floors, stages/risers, basketball courts, telescopic seating, sports fields, team benches, flags, sandbags, goals, as needed.
May set up displays, conference rooms, etc.
Assists in repair and replacement of portable lighting, sound and electrical equipment, goal nets, goal posts, and benches, etc. used for events.
Communicates clearly, effectively and tactfully, including understanding and following instructions, procedures, etc.
Works emergency situations (including extreme weather conditions) as required.
Performs other duties as requested.
Must be 17 years of age or older.
You will work part time supporting sports tournaments or other special events located at the Premier Sports Campus (Lakewood Ranch, FL). You will help with custodial duties for events at the Sports Campus. You would be scheduled to work on as needed basis for large events and tournaments.
Familiarity with small power tools and equipment used in set-ups and tear-downs associated with events desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with materials and equipment used in work performed.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform physical movements necessary for job assigned, i. e., bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, etc.
Visual acuity and ability to identify colors, i. e., color coded electrical wiring, etc.
Sufficient hearing to be able to identify levels of sound necessary for working with sound equipment.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures as needed.
Area of Assignment - Janitorial:
Performs routine janitorial duties, ie., cleans restrooms and fixtures, checks and stocks supplies, mops floors, vacuums, dusts, cleans windows, glass doors, etc. Maintains overall cleanliness of assigned facilities. Verifies that lavatory installations are working and reports those in need of repair. Makes minor repairs as needed. Sweeps, mops, polishes, or vacuums floors of assigned facilities. Washes and/or cleans walls, windows, ceiling vents, and mirrors. Removes and disposes of all rubbish and trash in designated areas. Cleans and/or dusts desks, cabinets, furniture. Performing cleaning and custodial functions may require crawling, kneeling, or stooping to clean and remove debris. Special cleaning jobs or functions may be required on occasion, such as stripping floors. May be required to prepare or maintain work records and/or make recommendations on materials needed to provide efficient or preventative maintenance of facilities. Must be able to read and follow instructions for cleaning and for cleaning supplies and perform janitorial duties effectively.
