Job Summary

The Court Input division of the Clerk's office performs intake and input operations for the cases of arrestable offenses that occur in Manatee County. Felonies are under the jurisdiction of the Circuit Court. Misdemeanors and Criminal Traffic are under the jurisdiction of the County Court.The Supervisor I/Court Input position is a full-time, supervisory position that reports to the Deputy Director of Courts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in specific field of endeavor or 4 years of related experience
  • Demonstrates supervisory and leadership knowledge or competency
  • Professional certification preferred
  • Must be a Deputy Clerk
  • Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Windows suite

Essential Functions

  • Provides excellent customer service to all in person, in email and over the phone; is approachable, helpful and personable; and answers questions knowledgeably and with patience

  • Holds staff accountable for practicing and demonstrating our organizational values, Clerk policies & procedures
  • Responsible for staffing, retention, development, training and performance management of division staff
  • Maintains the confidentially of pertinent personnel records
  • Sets priorities and allocate staff and other resources to meet needs in a timely, effective manner, and establish and maintain staff and work schedules to meet coverage needs
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to disseminate information, communicate policies, goals and procedures
  • Creates and maintains division procedures
  • Reviews statutes, legislation, rules, regulations and policies and recommends procedural changes as appropriate
  • Coordinates appropriate measures to implement procedural changes which affect the division
  • Plans and manages division budget
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
