Typical day in the life as a Day Warehouse Manager:

• Lead, manage and hold accountable the Inventory Control and Day Warehouse team to ensure team member safety, proper operational processes, and achievement of goals for productivity and profitability.
• Train/Re-Train new team members with a hands-on approach to meet and exceed company standards while attaining specific goals and measurable results.
• Monitor, track and administer performance in accordance with Atlantic Food Distributor’s company policy.
• Ensure accurate input of payroll information for all day warehouse team members.
• Maintain a safe working environment by assuring that all Day Warehouse team members are properly trained on all safety issues, accident and/or incident reports are completed in a timely manner, and all unsafe acts or conditions are corrected.
• Analyze warehouse key performance indicators/metrics and develop action plans to improve them.
• Ensure accurate information is being input into the WMS system.
• Address warehouse challenges methodically and efficiently.
• Create process improvement solutions and action plans for review with the Director of Operations.
• Follow up with direct reports, Director of Operations on all pending warehouse issues.
• Ensure timely completion of all warehouse activities.
• Ensure all operational equipment meets permitting requirements and is safe to operate.
• Report and investigate warehouse injuries and accidents with the assistance of the Safety Manager.
• Complete daily/weekly walk-throughs of the warehouse and address open issues related to safety, cleanliness, efficiencies, etc.
• Serve as a backup for key day-warehouse functions such as receiving, inventory control, driver check-in, put-away, and replenishment.
• Ensure all team members and the facility abide by all OSHA, HACCP and health department regulations for local, state and federal government agencies.

What we are looking for:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse atmosphere, including receiving, pulling orders, selecting, and shipping.
• Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.).
• Ability to communicate well with internal customers and management.
• Ability to follow safe working practices, as instructed.
• Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.
