The Safety and Security Supervisor administers campus-wide programs related to safety and security. This position develops a strong collaborative relationships with all departments throughout the facility. This position must stay current on all regulatory and compliance issues related to the CMS Statement of Conditions (SOC), which include DHS, OSHA, OSHPD/HCAI, Title 22 interpretations, NFPA regulations and other agency specific regulatory agencies. This role maintains updated management plans, policies and procedures in all SOC areas, and is responsible for the data collection, assessment and performance improvement modalities with regard to the hospital environment campus-wide. The Safety Committee is chaired by this position. The Safety & Security Supervisor coordinates the delivery of all staff education and orientation related to all programs above.

What You'll Do:

• Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team to conduct ongoing safety and security tours of clinical and non-clinical areas. Facilitate safety and security related training such as campus-wide de-escalation training.
• Coordinates with local law enforcement to maintain campus security. Collaborates with law enforcement officials in handling on campus incidents.
• Submit a regular written alternative life safety report to the Facilities Manager, COO, and Safety Committee. Review and update policies regarding Security and Life Safety.
• Respond rapidly to all emergency codes called within the hospital, following emergency response procedures.
• Provide new hire orientation regarding safety and security. Production of badges for all hospital employees, physicians, visitors, and contractors and monitors access control systems.
• Assists with: maintaining compliance with Det Norske Veritas (DNV) guidelines for the Physical Environment of Care standards. Coordination of drills related to Emergency Response Codes (e.g. Code Red, Code Yellow, etc.); enforcement of interim life safety plans with Facilities Manager and Chief Engineer to conduct regular inspections of firewalls, fire dampers, and automated fire alarm; emergency preparedness training.
• Trains and supervises Day and Night Maintenance Technician/Security Guards.
• Coordinates the production and maintenance of staff security access cards and the door access system.

What You'll Need:

• Minimum of 1 year safety/security experience required with healthcare safety experience preferred, or 3 years of healthcare experience required.
• Fire and/or Police (Military or Civilian) experience preferred.
• State of California Security Guard card required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross First Aid/CPA/AED preferred.

Job Information:

• Full-time, day position. On-call required.
• Starting wage $27.56 to $29.50 based on qualifications.
