We are looking for a highly motivated Busser/Runner to become a part of our team and assist us in providing an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
As a Busser/Runner, your primary responsibility will be to keep the dining environment clean and attractive. This includes clearing tables, removing used dishes, and setting tables for the next set of customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for attending to the needs of our customers, promptly and courteously. You will need to keep an eye on all tables, communicate with servers, and assist them as needed. You should be quick to refill drinks and clear away used utensils.
Your exceptional service delivery will help us create a phenomenal dining experience for our customers from the beginning to the end.
Activities & Responsibilities Primary
  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Mamaw’s Cafe & Catering – where our mission is to enrich the lives of our guests and our employees. We do this through superior quality food and beverages, legendary customer service, sales growth, cost controls, and treating our employees like family. We believe that our employees are our most important resource, and our success depends upon creating and retaining a staff capable of delivering an exceptional dining experience to every customer, every time.
  • Set tables with condiments and/or other supplies.
  • Clear tables after guests, and wipe tables and seats with dampened cloths.
  • Promptly clean table tops, chairs, booths, and the floor under and around tables between guests.
  • Remove used tableware between courses.
  • Locate items requested by guests.
  • Scrape, stack, and carry dishes and other tableware to the kitchen for cleaning.
  • Take soiled tableware to the designated area, and unload, sort, and stack silverware, dishes, and glassware for cleaning.
  • Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties to facilitate customer service.
  • Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens or supply areas to serving counters.
  • Clean up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and remove trash.
  • Serve food to guests when servers need assistance.
  • Thank guests as they leave, holding doors when possible.
  • Maintain adequate supplies such as silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.
  • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service or restaurant areas, and mop or vacuum floors.
  • Fill beverage or ice dispensers.
  • Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers.
  • Communicate with the server and host or hostess to expedite efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to the server as needed.
  • Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
  • Inspect restrooms every 30 minutes and clean as needed.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the restaurant's operation.
  • Fill in for fellow employees to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

  • Slice fruit used to garnish drinks.
  • Wash glasses or other serving equipment
Qualifications
  • Previous knowledge of food service regulations is preferred.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Team player
