Malibu Wellness Ranch is looking for an experienced Drug and Alcohol counselor. Applicants must have one-year drug and alcohol counseling experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 8 clients

• Work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized treatment plans

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions

• Communicate with family members and significant others of clients to discuss treatment progress

• Facilitate clinical workshops, process groups, and psychoeducational lectures

• Correspond with referral sources, legal entities, and employers in order to meet client case management and continuum of care needs

• Complete documentation in specified timeframes such as Biopsychosocial Assessments. Case Consults, Comprehensive Treatment Plans, Treatment Plan Reviews, DAP progress notes, Group Notes, ASAMs, , Continuing Care Plans, and Discharge Summaries.

Utilize various evidence-based treatment modalities, techniques, and principles associated with effective treatment outcomes

Skills and Knowledge

• Understand the disease model of chemical dependency

• Knowledge of co-occurring disorders

• Possess strong clinical skills and a strong knowledge base of substance use disorders

• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrate a commitment to high professional ethical standards

• Able to facilitate groups and speak effectively in public

• Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills

• Able to prioritize multiple work assignments

• Exercise good judgment and make sound decisions in emergency situations

• Ability to utilize an Electronic Medical Record for documentation.

• Adhere to Federal, State, and HIPAA confidentiality laws

Education and Experience

Meet at least one of the following groups of qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or other related human services field.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing or other related human services field and 1 year of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

• Associate Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or other related human services field and 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

• Working knowledge of Evidence Based Treatment Modalities.

• CADC or CAADC preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
