MALDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS is Hiring a Physical Therapist - Extended School Year Services (ESY) [Summer 2024] Near Malden, MA

ESY Physical Therapist

(2 Positions Total - Pre-K-12) 

Qualifications (Required): 

  1. Valid License as a Physical Therapist.
  2. Successful experience as a physical thereapist.
  3. Experience implementing direct physical therapy services (including gross motor and/or physical disabilities which will allow them to access the school safely) for students within sub-eparate and inclusion classes.
  4. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators. 
  5. Related Service Providers must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 

Qualifications (Preferred):

  1. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
  2. Licensed as a physical therapist.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Participate in two staff development meetings. 
  2. Collaborate with the Program Managers and Program Coordinator to provide direct OT (including sensory consult and/or fine motor) services to students on IEP’s.
  3. Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records. 
  4. Keep folders/portfolios with student work. 
  5. Perform other related activities as required by the program coordinator. 
  6. Write end of summer progress reports for each student serviced.

Duration: 

Program Administration and Implementation 101 hours total to include the following: 

  • Professional In-service Days June 25 - 26 (3 hours each day).
  • 19 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 1 – August 1 (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m) or 7:30 - 11:30 am for preschool.
  • Please not no classes will be held on July 4th.

Stipend: $37 an hour
