What We Need

As the VP of Operations, you will lead and drive success across key operational functions here at Maisonette including Operations and Customer Care. The operations team consists of Fulfillment, Vendor Operations and Support, and Transportation/Logistics. The Customer Care team consists of customer support and vendor support. Broadly, this role owns the flow of product across the Maisonette network (both owned inventory and dropship), ensures that our dropship sellers are operating efficiently and effectively and honoring our customer promise, and ensures that our customers and sellers have a positive experience. This role is a key stakeholder and leadership sponsor for gross margin.

What You'll Do

• Manage the teams responsible for ensuring that both owned and dropship product is delivered to customers as quickly, efficiently and as cost effectively as possible
• Ensure that all operations teams have clear and measurable goals, and are constantly optimizing performance against those goals through a robust initiative program
• Be the champion for gross margin across the business, targeting profitability improvements through efficiencies in shipping and logistics and how this evolves overtime
• Develop working relationships with other functions to create transparency into input metrics and service levels to other functions/departments
• Build new capabilities and programs, both internally and with external partners, to improve fulfillment performance and cost and drive a better customer experience
• Identify opportunities for business improvement through technology, and champion technology improvements into our Engineering & Product teams

About You

• 12 years of experience in operational leadership in a high-growth, fast-paced environment (startups/ management consulting, retail/consumer products or similar strategic role preferred)
• Direct experience in shipping and 3PLs/Fulfillment centers
• Technical experience
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment. Passionate about building new capabilities
• Aptitude and willingness to “get one’s hands dirty” and conduct financial and operational modeling, write executive presentations and manage projects directly.
• Ability to work with different levels of management throughout an organization including a track record of close partnership with the C-suite/senior level executives 
• Strategic P&L management through hypergrowth: experience managing specific P&L goals, such as increased gross margin, increased operating leverage, etc.
