Unique opportunity to join a one of a kind veterinary practice in Maine and help guide its continued growth!

Mainely Veterinary Dentistry is looking to add a skilled practice manager to the team at our location in Windham, Maine. The ideal candidate is a licensed technician with leadership training and experience. The Practice Manager has the primary responsibility for leadership, and implementation of the practice’s strategic plan. He or she must be able to differentiate between major and minor issues as they relate to the mission of the practice. Strong communication skills are required, along with the ability to coach and facilitate staff in a positive manner, inspiring professional growth, development and exemplary performance.

Some of the duties include:

  • Oversee/manage inventory and ordering supplies
  • Design and manage an employee training and advancement/development program
  • Delegate responsibilities to veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient use of all scheduled staff
  • Oversee OSHA compliance
  • Marketing and social media management
  • Oversee creation of standard operating procedures
  • Human Resources including regular employee check-ins and annual reviews
  • Attend occasional weekend events to promote Mainely Veterinary Dentistry
  • Serve as the point person for staff questions and routine problems
  • Assist with practice development and improvement

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills and training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Extensive knowledge of day to day function of veterinary hospital
  • Organizational skills and completion of tasks
  • Self motivated and able to delegate tasks when appropriate
  • Ability to handle emotional situations
  • Social media/marketing knowledge is ideal but not required
  • Previous experience as a veterinary technician also ideal

Mainely Veterinary Dentistry's mission is to improve and maintain the overall health and well-being of pets and the human-animal bond by addressing and advocating for the oral health of cats and dogs. To that end, we provide high quality and compassionate veterinary dentistry services and education to small animal pet owners as well as training and education to general practitioners and their support staff in New England.
