Mainely Eyes/Goldthwait Vision Care is Hiring an Optometric Technician Near Bangor, ME

Medical terminology required and while prior experience in a medical office is preferred it is not required. Ability to multi-task in a faced pace office is required. Attention to detail a must as well as strong computer skills. Salary based on experience.

  • Looking for someone with experience but will consider a candidate with medical experience

  • Computer literacy
  • Handles complex situations and patient issues with tact and patience
  • Respect for patient confidentiality
  • Aptitude for technology and resourcefulness in troubleshooting equipment malfunction
  • Enthusiastic about the latest products and services in eye care

Responsibilities

  • Pre-testing and special testing of patients (such as visual field tests, visual acuity, color vision testing, stereopsis, lensometry)
  • Contact lens training
  • Preparation and cleaning of exam rooms and equipment
  • Insurance verifications and billing
  • Clerical duties (such as answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, referral assistant, maintenance of patient data)
  • Knowledgeable about products and services offered
  • This position is responsible for collecting and inputting clinical data necessary for the visual health and performance of the patient

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $1.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • No nights
