Summary

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Registered Nurses:

  • Registered Nurses - New Grads to 3 years of experience: $10,000 (full time)
  • Registered Nurses with more than 3 years of experience: $20,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Nursing Float Pool – SURGICAL SERVICES TRACK

The Nursing Float Pool is seeking a nursing candidate with acute-care experience and an interest in holding a cross-trained position in surgical service areas, including Short Stay Unit (SSU), ACU, and PACU. Nurses in this progressive position will build upon a Medical Surgical and Intermediate Care skill base by receiving specialized training in surgical service areas. Once training is complete, these nurses will be able to care for a broader specialty range and continue to grow in their profession within this dynamic position.

  • Ability to float between multiple Medical-Surgical units, Special Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department to care for medical-surgical and intermediate care patients, with the addition of Surgical Service areas, such as Short Stay Unit, ACU and PACU.
  • 12-hours shifts (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am)
  • Diversify your nursing skill set by bridging into surgical services through this track, gain experience within an expanded specialty of patients and diagnoses.

Position Summary

The health care work force of the future should have the knowledge and skills to provide patient-centered, community-focused, cost-effective, clinically effective, coordinated care. To do these things successfully, the work force must be competent, flexible, and adaptive to changes in health care delivery and technology. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performance of complex, individualized, family-oriented nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures under the direct supervision of a charge/shift leader RN.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: BSN preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing as an R.N. required. BLS and ability to perform CPR required. ACLS preferred.
  3. Experience: Minimum of one-year acute care experience as an R.N. preferred.
