- Position Summary
- The RN Graduate-Transitional is responsible for performing various duties in the care of patients in accordance with established protocols, policies and procedures at Memorial Hospital. In the Transitional Graduate Program, the new nurse is working progressively towards competency and independence in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The program is intended to support the new graduate nurse in making the transition from student to competent clinical practitioner. The graduate nurse may practice only under the supervision of an RN currently licensed in New Hampshire or working under a compact license.

- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- License/Certifications: New Hampshire residents: Active temporary State of NH or compact nursing license. In the process of completing and passing the NCLEX within 120 days of temporary licensure.Maine residents: Current Authorization to Test (ATT) Letter from the Maine State Board of Nursing and t complete/pass the NCLEX within 90 days from start date. All team members must have current BLS.
- Experience: N/A
- Knowledge of nursing processes; structure and functions
- Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation and terminology requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health care information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff
- Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination
- Ability to respond the changing workload based on patient census and to direct, supervise and evaluate care in order to individualize nursing care provided to patients
- Ability to maintain professional manner even under stressful situations
- Proficient computer skills
