MaineHealth is Hiring a Remote Medical Assistant (MA) - Internal Med & Ped's Clinic - Remote Opportunity!

Summary

  • The ideal candidate for this position will reside in Maine or New Hampshire.

    The availability to train on site for 3 weeks is required (Travel/lodging costs are at the candidate’s expense). Once fully trained this is a work from home position.

    This is a remote MA position that will support three disciplines within the MMP Clinics. This includes Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and MedPeds. This position will focus on remote inbasket work which includes, but is not limited to medication refills, prior authorizations, and patient calls. 2 years of MA experience preferred.

  • For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants:

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
  • 1 years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
  • Position Summary
    • Responsible for performing a variety of duties in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental and organizational tasks.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Successful completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited vocational institution or community college.
    • License/Certifications: Current BLS required or must be obtained within 3 months from start of employment.
    • Experience: Minimum one year's experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office.
    • Ability to excel in a team-based care environment.
    • Working knowledge of continuous process improvement.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
    • Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis.
    • Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations
    • Analytical ability required to gather and interpret information necessary to resolve problems.
    • Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
    • Proficient computer skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
