MaineHealth is Hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Near Portland, ME

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for LPNs:

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)
  • 1-3 years of experience eligible for $7,500 (full time)
  • 3 years of experience eligible for $10,000 (full time)
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time LPN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

This is a full-time (40 hours), Monday-Friday, day-shift position. The 8-hour shifts will fall within the clinic hours of 7am-5:30pm.

  • Position Summary
    • The Licensed Practical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family centered care, commitment to our community, and accountability. In accordance with the Nursing Standards of Care and within the guidelines of both Maine Medical Center Policies and Procedures and the Maine State Board of Nursing, the Licensed Practical Nurse, under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse, performs selected, direct, technical aspects of patient care. The Licensed Practical Nurse makes and reports observations concerning the patient's condition and reinforces patient education in order to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patient and family. They are able to work in a variety of patient care settings such as Med-Surg, OB, Pediatrics, Psych and clinics.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: N/A
    • License/Certifications: BLS certified. Annual IV certification. Must pass a licensing examination after completing a State-approved practical nursing program.
    • Experience: N/A
    • Complete a Departmental CBO tool at the time of hire demonstrating competencies in designated unit tasks.
    • All clinical competencies.
    • Must pass a course allowing them to function as a Category II in IV therapy prior to employment or shortly after.
