MaineHealth is Hiring a Clinical Nurse Educator (RN) - Ambulatory Practices Near South Portland, ME

Summary

Maine Medical Partners has an exciting opportunity for an RN Clinical Educator to support all their regional education needs. The registered nurse offered this role will act as a clinical resource for the various Family Medicine and Specialty practices. Much of the role will be project based gathering data to develop/update New Employee Orientation, policies, procedures and protocols and provide ongoing training based on clinical needs of the practice. Additionally, the RN will support the practices for questions on how best to handle specific scenarios for a certain patient population and provide applicable training as needed. This role may support clinical needs as they arise.

This is a Monday-Friday, day-shift position requiring some local travel to greater Portland practice sites. Travel to regional sites to support clinical needs will be as needed.

Our ideal candidate has a BSN with 3-5 years’ RN experience in an ambulatory or inpatient setting. Associate degree RN candidates with inpatient or outpatient experience will also be considered. Prior training or project management experience is a plus. The ability to deliver training components and communicate across levels of the organization is also important.   • Position Summary
    • The Clinical Staff Educator position assists in the coordination of Maine Medical Partners performance improvement and patient safety programs. This role works closely with MMP clinical staff and management team to demonstrate best practice and achieve evidenced based patient outcomes. Providing continuous support to the managers and staff in the area of clinical practice and patient satisfaction is essential.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Active, unencumbered, State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure. Current BLS certification.
    • Experience: N/A
    • Critical thinking and analytical skills to review complex systems, understand current literature and conduct failure mode and effects analysis as well as root cause analysis in improving practice and patient care systems.
    • Ability to deliver education via many routes to effectively assist staff in understanding and comprehension.
    • Effective project management and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of administration and health care team.
    • Ability to lead and facilitate team with effective group presentation skills.
    • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
    • Proficient computer skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
