Maine Molecular Quality Controls, Inc. (MMQCI) is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician to be based in their Saco, Maine location.
Requirements of the Laboratory Technician:
· High school diploma or equivalent; would consider high school student.
· Ability to work 15-20 hours per week.
· Desire to work in a lab setting and/or around scientists.
· Experience working or taking classes in a lab setting while wearing gloves and a lab coat preferred.
· Well organized, follows instructions meticulously, and enjoys precise, detailed work.

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician:
· Supports the Discovery and Research & Development team in daily laboratory operations.
· Stocks inventory supplies and performs routine inventory checks.
· Maintains inventory of refrigerated and frozen materials in R&D and assists in ordering lab consumables.
· Washes laboratory glassware using the automated dishwasher and by hand.
· Assists in the decontamination and cleaning of laboratory benches and equipment.
· Autoclaves buffers, reagents, bacterial culture plates and broths.
· Assists Technical Operations in routine monitoring of lab equipment, such as temperature recording, de-frosting, and organization freezer and refrigerator.
MMQCI designs, develops, manufactures, and sells quality control products to ensure the accuracy of medical laboratory diagnostic testing. They are passionate about improving patient care and offer a friendly community where employees work together to support their customers.
