Scope of Position:
The Fine Arts & Education Attendant will be responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the various arts and education spaces including the library, computer lab, art room, game room, and other general classroom space. The attendant will also be responsible for greeting and interacting with customers, answering questions, and procuring materials for them as needed in specified areas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
General: Effective verbal and written communications, ability to multitask, ability to follow instruction and complete tasks in a safe and effective manner. Must be able to deal comfortably with stressful situations and follow emergency procedures.
Organization: Ability to use discretion and sound judgment when interacting with others and while making decisions. The ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule, to address multiply projects in a timely manner, and to take projects from beginning through completion. The ability to be responsible and detail oriented.
Professional: The ability to work in a distinctively Christian environment. The ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner in conformity with The Salvation Army Mission Statement. The ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

This position may have frequent phone and in person contact with people from diverse backgrounds who may be angry, hostile, confused, or frustrated.
Work with minimum supervision and work involves a high degree of independence. May be required to make independent decisions that may involve unique or unusual situations and/or complex issues and dealing with demanding requests.
Various scheduled work in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Will be exposed to a range of temperatures inside and outside of the building, heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, humidity. May walk or stand on varied surfaces.
