Main Salvation Army is Hiring a 13-040 - Receptionist (Part-Time) - SC/ El Centro Near El Centro, CA

Position Summary

The receptionist will assist with necessary reports, correspondence, phone calls, clerical and/or office tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Handle correspondence as required; Receive, sort and distribute mail/deliveries.
  • Assist with a variety of clerical and administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, etc.
  • Manage front desk.
  • Be familiar with and follow all Salvation Army Policies and Procedures
  • Field incoming calls, take messages, and convey information to appropriate staff, as necessary.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, notifying Office Manager of need for replenishment and repair.
  • Keep all front office areas neat and tidy.
  • Assist family services when needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend squat climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 40lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and communicate well in English.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • High School education or the equivalent in working years.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Must have computer skills (Word, Excel, Google Docs, Power point, etc.)

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; ability to interact with co-workers, management, leadership, and the public in a positive and productive manner.
  • Ability to analyze problems and reach acceptable workable solutions.
  • Ability to present oneself in a professional manner; ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in relation to information and documentation.
  • Ability and motivation to work with minimal supervision.
