Scaffold Inventory / Yard Manager Job Description

The scaffold inventory manager oversees the ordering, storing, and distributing process of scaffolding and scaffolding related materials and equipment.

You will supply the projects with needed scaffolding and record these transactions in the inventory management software.

Regular inventory reporting to management will be expected. Prior scaffolding experience is not a requirement but is preferential.

All scaffold inventory controls will be your responsibility. You will be based out of the corporate office in Hampton, VA with a normal shift Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week.

Overtime may be required but is not guaranteed. Access eligibility to HII-NNS will be a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Control scaffold inventory
  • Perform purchase / re-rent cost analysis when owned inventory is insufficient
  • Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain the relationship
  • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
  • Supply projects with all scaffolding and scaffolding materials and equipment in a timely manner
  • Mange scaffold yard crew
  • Arrange and manage all scaffolding related trucking
  • Document daily shipments
  • Document daily returns
  • Maintain the inventory management software (daily duty)

Requirements and Skills - to be demonstrated during interview.

  • Proven experience as inventory manager
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create electronic reports
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software
  • Working knowledge of Avontus Quantify a plus
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • High computer literacy
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • An analytical mind with strong math skills
  • Access eligibility to HII-NNS
