Description

MAHUBE-OTWA is actively recruiting a Facilities Maintenance Technician. We are seeking a motivated individual who has a passion for helping others combined with knowledge and experience in performing maintenance and repairs of facilities, equipment, and grounds in a professional and timely manner. Responsibilities include maintenance and repairs on agency facilities, leased buildings and units, grounds, and vehicles. Tasks will vary in volume and complexity, and will require initiative, autonomy, and independent judgment.

Pay: $23.21 - $23.96

Schedule: Day Shift, Monday – Friday

Remote Work: Limited, Travel within our 5-county area required.

Location(s): Detroit Lakes, MN preferred, and other locations within service territory will be considered.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required plus Technical/Vocational certificate and 2 to 3 years of related facilities and maintenance experience. An equivalent combination of education, experience, or a demonstrated capability to perform the job duties will be considered.
  • Experience with general construction, groundskeeping, and/or prior facilities maintenance required.
  • Knowledge of basic HVAC (heating/air conditioning), plumbing, and electrical systems required as well as OSHA and safe work practices.
  • Ability to gather and convey accurate information and measurements.
  • Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good computer skills including working with email, internet, data entry, computer files and databases.
  • Requires good written and verbal communication skills including the ability to read, write and comprehend instructions and correspondence as well as the ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and/or group situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina, including ability to use hand tools and power tools. 
  • Must use judgement in knowing when a specialized, licensed technician is required for major repairs or replacements.
  • Familiarity with common cleaning products and equipment.
  • General passion for creative problem-solving.
  • Valid driver’s license.
