OBJECTIVE The Field Safety Manager is responsible for establishing a culture of safety and improving measures across all store locations, researching and creating safety trainings and programs is needed to ensure that all departments and personnel are complying with company policies as well as OSHA standards and regulations. Conduct routine safety audits to identify various safety hazards and enforce corrective actions. Establishing a presence at all store locations through communication with appropriate store level management is needed to develop effective and timely solutions to safety issues and report solutions to senior management as needed.

Create, implement and maintain health and safety measures across all store locations Maintain current knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines to ensure all store locations and company policies are in compliance with state and federal laws Develop improved health and safety programs to provide employees with education on correct safety practices, communication methods, mitigation practices and resolving of issues to promote a strong safety culture

Establish a presence and communication at all store locations through routine contact with designated safety officers, store management and associates, offering recommendations and improvements to safety standards Conduct periodical safety audits across all store locations, identifying, documenting and communicating safety issues to the correct management channel in a timely manner Evaluate and improve upon internal safety audits, optimizing timing, documentation methods, observance practices and communication styles Develop and present timely and efficient solutions to all safety issues, evaluating for effectiveness, cost and facility capabilities Lead investigations into all accidents or incidents to discover root causes and document the workers compensation claim process Monitor the execution or corrective action plan of all identified safety issues, establishing routine communication, documentation of progress reports, and assurance of timely completion Maintain records and documentation of employee safety training completion, audit reports and corrective action plans Lead periodical safety meetings, setting the safety agenda and recommending department goals and initiatives to senior management

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Degree in Safety Management and 3 years progressive experience in an occupational or safety maintenance role required. Work in horticultural industry preferred. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and guidelines needed. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in an active retail store environment. This job may be either indoors or outdoors or both.

This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and / or crawling. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Flexible hours. Days and hours of work vary by schedule and season. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
