POSITION: Quality Engineer

COMPANY: Mahindra Automotive North America

LOCATION: Auburn Hills, MI

JOB TYPE: Full-Time

JOB DESCRIPTION: In this job, you will communicate, lead & supervise the quality team, set expectations clearly, classify tasks appropriately, and train employees on the latest product standards. You will also ensure that safety protocols are followed, track and report quality metrics to other members of the management team and drive quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and Manage the Quality team.
• Deployment of Quality Improvement Plan to improve plant direct-pass ratio
• Investigate product complaints and conduct Root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions with the Plant team and suppliers.
• Partner with Engineering and Product Development for new product introduction and quality new suppliers
• Assist production managers and operators with interpreting and applying established procedures.
• Maintain working production component knowledge and associate it with next-tier applications.
• Track and monitor plant quality performance, supplier quality performance, and warranty metrics
• Conduct meetings regularly with production, suppliers, and MAgNA to track quality improvements.
• Must verify adherence to quality standards and documentation, interpret, support, and put into practice recommendations.
• Communicate the quality control system within the organization.
• Inspect all recently purchased and comeback vehicles to ensure proper correction and condition of the vehicle.
• Evaluate quality department equipment and resource needs.

• EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing
• Experience in quality function within an industrial manufacturing

• Skills & Qualifications:
• Ability to lead the team.
• Effective communication
• Detail-Oriented
• Experience presenting and training Lean manufacturing principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Basic knowledge of probability and statistics
• Ability to train, support, and initiate best practices for line-quality activities.
