What You Will Do:
  • Lead the CAD administration function, including managing CAD software licenses, templates, libraries, and standards to ensure consistency and efficiency in design workflows. 
  • Oversee the maintenance and updates of CAD systems, ensuring software functionality and compatibility with design requirements. 
  • Provide training and support to design teams on CAD software usage, best practices, and standards compliance. 
  • Serve as a senior-level drafter, responsible for creating and maintaining detailed drawings, models, and documentation using CAD software 
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement design standards and guidelines to enhance productivity and quality. 
  • Conduct quality control checks on drawings and models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design standards. 
  • Work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to interpret design requirements and translate them into accurate and functional mechanical drawings and models. 
  • Generate and maintain detailed documentation, including bills of materials, manufacturing instructions, and technical specifications, to support manufacturing and assembly processes. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in CAD workflows and drafting procedures, implementing solutions to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
What You Will Need:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in CAD administration. 
  • Proficiency in CAD software with advanced skills in 3D modeling and detailing - including Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor. 
  • Experience in leading CAD administration functions, including managing software licenses, templates, and standards within Product Data Management software – AutoDesk Vault preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and drafting techniques. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support design teams. 
  • Proven ability to develop and implement design standards and guidelines. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to use computer for full workdays. 
  • Ability to use PPE in a manufacturing environment where safety is priority. 
  • Travel – up to 10%.
What We Would Like:
  • Associate’s degree in engineering, drafting, or related field. 
  • 5 years of experience in CAD administration and mechanical drafting. 
  • Experience in electrical, instrumentation & control, and pipe/hose drafting.
