Description

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our Magnolia Public Schools (MPS) development team as the Grants Manager. This position plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the development, management, and implementation of grant programs across MPS. The Grants Manager will be responsible for ensuring the success of our grant programs by promoting supportive and inclusive grant management processes that address the diverse needs of the grantee community.

The Grants Manager will report directly to the Director of Advancement, however, this individual will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief External Officer. The Grants Manager will be a key driver in creating a nurturing and inclusive grant application process that fosters the overall success of grantees. Their expertise and dedication to grant initiatives will be integral to fulfilling our mission of providing high-quality academic programs and support to historically underinvested communities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Grant Development: Lead the implementation strategy for grant program development in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Collaborate with program leaders and community partners to ensure comprehensive and effective grant programs are integrated into the organizational mission.

  2. Grant Management: Manage the grant application process from sourcing to submission, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and regulations. Develop and monitor grant budgets and timelines to ensure the successful implementation of grant projects.

  3. Grant Reporting: Prepare and submit progress reports and other required grant compliance documentation to funders. Manage grantee reporting requirements and ensure necessary data is collected and reported accurately.

  4. Staff Training and Support: Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff and grantees to enhance their understanding and skills in grant development and management. Support grantees in developing effective grant proposals and project implementation plans.

  5. Partnerships and Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, funders, and other stakeholders to enhance the availability and accessibility of grant opportunities. Collaborate with external partners to ensure a seamless grant application process and coordinated support.

  6. Data Collection and Analysis: Implement data-driven approaches to assess the impact of grant initiatives on organizational outcomes. Regularly analyze program data to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and make informed decisions for continuous improvement.

  7. Policy and Compliance: Stay informed about local, state, and federal policies related to grant programs. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines, advocating for the integration of best practices within the grant application process.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, finance, public administration, or a related field. 

  2. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant program development, management, or fundraising, with a strong background in working with diverse communities. Ability to exercise discretion and independent professional judgment and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines while working under pressure.

  3. Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of grant program best practices and community engagement. Familiarity with the needs of underserved communities and experience addressing systemic inequities.

  4. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, build collaborative relationships, and work effectively with diverse partners. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.

  5. Communication Skills: Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver engaging presentations, facilitate meetings, and build partnerships.
