Magnolia Assisted Living is Hiring an Activities Coordinator Near Flower Mound, TX

We are currently seeking: A Full-Time Activities Coordinator at our Flower Mound, TX location.

The Activity Coordinator is an energetic self-starter who develops and administers a comprehensive activities program to meet the needs of Magnolia Assisted Living’s residents.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops recreation and leisure programs to meet the needs of residents and their levels.
  • Provides residents, staff and families with resources related to leisure activities.
  • Assesses and documents residents’ abilities and needs, and records resident participation.
  • Prepares monthly quality of care/service reports.
  • Compiles a monthly social program calendar and distributes to staff and residents.
  • Follows created activities schedule.
  • Attends meetings as necessary.
  • Assures that all activities conform to federal, state and local accreditation and licensing agencies or organizations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in and conduct semi-active programs.
  • Enthusiasm to work with individuals of all ages.
  • Ability to handle residents, staff and guests with tact and professionalism.
  • Able to identify unfavorable symptoms such as fatigue and irritability.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree with emphasis in therapeutic recreation, or certification as a resident activity coordinator, preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an activities coordinator, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended intervals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
