Job Overview:

The Production Operator position is a cross-trained role that will take on hybrid duties within the Production Filling and act as an interim Formulation Operator department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Filling Duties:

  • Adhere to filling techniques according to SOPs and Fill Ticket Instructions.
  • Identify unique batches using product codes and batch numbers.
  • Accurately complete filling paperwork including fill tickets and verifications.
  • Fill 1 to 5-gallon pails and drums from 3-wheel pots on platforms.
  • Organize raw materials to their correct location in compliance with FIFO methods while using a forklift or manually lifting materials up to 50lbs.

Interim Formulation Operator Duties:

  • Become proficient at the formulation operator work instructions.
  • Learn how to properly understand and fill out mix tickets.
  • Learn how to de-air batches to ensure product quality.
  • Focus on becoming proficient in 5-8 specific product formulas, and simple blends of 3-4 raw materials.
  • Learn how to operate pony mixers and single shift dispersers to produce high-volume products.
  • Learn and execute proper cleaning procedures and separate A and B formulations during cleaning.

General Responsibilities:

  • Monitor equipment in use and maintain cleanliness in assigned area.
  • Demonstrate ability to operate scales and weigh finished product to the required decimal significance.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with applicable EHS and SOP regulations, guidelines, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance the Company’s productivity.
  • Demonstrate proficiency as outlined in training requirements, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Actively participate in troubleshooting processes and equipment problems as well as completing all necessary paperwork associated with investigations, deviations, and work instructions.
  • Recognize and report deviations or potential issues immediately to the management team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be able speak English fluently as well as read and understand written and verbal instructions and follow directions on the Fill Ticket.
  • Must be able to use scales and accurately weigh raw materials and finished product.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations using a calculator to determine accurate weights and measurements.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 years of experience in a similar production environment preferred.
  • Experience in a chemical plant is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Other Requirements:

All candidates are required to pass a drug screening and background check and must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States once an offer for employment is made.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • This is a chemical plant environment.
  • Must use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required by safety policies.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, and climbing.
