Magnetic Technologies is Hiring a Quality Process Technician Near Marengo, IL

Arnold Magnetic Technologies is a leading global manufacturer of high-performance permanent magnets, flexible composites, electromagnets, magnetic assemblies, and precision thin metal foils. Arnold's magnets, metals, and systems are used in high-efficiency electric motors and generators, sensors, batteries, and more.

Brief Summary of Position:

This position, reporting to the G.M. of Alnico Products, will provide support to the Quality, Operations, and Engineering departments.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions of Position:

  • Perform a variety of duties in assisting with quality and engineering aspects of manufacturing. FAIR measurements and reporting, along with inspection of supplier work performed.
  • Maintain the document control system (QT9).
  • Coordinate submittals of new documents and revisions to existing documents. 
  • Maintain the controlled documents circulation list.
  • Assist in revising and creating documents.
  • Inform personnel of document changes.
  • Assist in training personnel to new and revised documents, as required.
  • Prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) paperwork.
  • Aid in creating presentations for Management Review Meetings (input/output)

Supervisor Responsibilities: 

  • None

 Required Technical/Job Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2 years of general engineering experience within a manufacturing environment which may include, tooling design, costing, supplier interface, production, machining, and quality control.
  • 2 years of experience in ISO 9000 and/or AS9100 Quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to acquire new skills and knowledge quickly.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills to facilitate productive interaction with internal/external customers and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

 Education Requirements:

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering related field preferred; equivalent experience may also be considered

  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Working Conditions:

  • Standard work week is Monday through Friday, hours to be consistent with business unit; some off hours work expected
  • Generally working in Office with some activities in production environment
  • Some day or overnight travel domestically could be required.
