The Product Strategy Specialist plays a key role in helping Magid lead the industry in innovation while offering best-in-class product portfolios. This role works within the Global Product Strategy organization and reports to the Manager of Product Strategy. The Product Line Specialist works on high-profile new product research efforts, prepares performance reports, monitors market pricing and trends, manages product line performance and optimization, and recommends cost savings, rationalization, new products, and other key strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor sales trends, customer feedback, market trends and the competitive landscape and present that information to the Product Strategy leadership team to influence the product roadmap and product line strategies.
  • Track product line extensions, buy-to-make conversions, cost savings opportunities, SKU rationalization, product sustainability, and marketing initiatives based on customer needs and wants.
  • Determine product line pricing to ensure competitiveness while maximizing profitability.
  • Develop an annual commodity report for our customers that explains significant cost drivers influencing price adjustments.
  • Prepare reports for executive leadership on product category performance and progress of key initiatives (e.g. cost-savings).
  • Manage the special product request program and use insights to influence product development direction.
  • Support the voice of customer research process which includes conducting extensive on-site interviews and capturing key insights into the market being researched and curate ideas for new products.
