The Behavioral Health Therapist provides high quality and evidence based behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and elderly with a wide range of presenting problems. Services may include individual therapy, couple’s therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and diagnostic assessment. Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in accordance with general standards applicable to mental health professionals. Provides individual and/or group counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, elderly, and families. Manages caseload and other tasks to meet both qualitative and quantitative performance expectations. Provides crisis assessment and intervention as needed. Adheres to and upholds the ethical standards and guidelines of the profession. Documents work in accordance with standards in the areas of diagnostic evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge procedures, and other consumer related activities. Participates in education and other activities necessary to maintain competency in clinical work. Actively participates in clinical team and staff meetings. Support team members and participate in team activities to help build a high-performance team. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Clinical training must include instruction on chemical dependency, mental health, and brief therapy.
