Madison Square Boys & Girls Club is Hiring a SYEP Educational Coordinator (000) Near New York, NY

The SYEP Educational Coordinator (000) will be a part of the Workforce Development department that works in collaboration with DYCD to execute the SYEP program goals. The SYEP Educational Coordinator (000) will be responsible for coordinating curriculum design and implementation of work readiness workshops, manage daily program curriculum, and assigned administrative duties. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a SYEP Educational Coordinator (000) to work out of our HQ offices located in Halem, NY.

This is a full time seasonal position working Monday through Friday in the morning and afternoon.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the SYEP Educational Coordinator (000) position:
  • Research and develop training tools, curricula and educational materials.
  • Implement the SYEP orientation and job readiness component.
  • Track and monitor participant attendance and ensure accurate attendance data for wage payment purposes.
  • Track and monitor participant (s) development specifically in the areas of attitudinal change, knowledge gains, skills acquisition.
  • Provide individual and group guidance and coaching as needed to our participants.
  • Attend all relevant meetings and document activities as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Skills/Knowledge for the
SYEP Educational Coordinator(000)position:
  • Must have some college or higher, in addition to a minimum of three years of related experience working in the field of youth development or youth workforce development.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent room management skills and proven ability to employ a variety of behavior management techniques to create a safe and fun learning environment.
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to the emotional, social and academic needs of students during different developmental stages.
  • Experience working with youth and young adults ages 14-24.
  • A demonstrated ability to motivate, stimulate and challenge members and participants to commit, participate, and remain engaged throughout the program.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in workshop facilitation, curriculum development and event planning e.g. Job Fair.
  • Must be able to think on their feet, keep an upbeat positive attitude. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively communicate the importance of professionalism, punctuality, integrity and respect.
