Essential Duties
  • Provide students academic, linguistic, and cultural support in the classroom and virtual environments.
  • Facilitate and enhance communication, including translation and interpretation.
  • Build relationships with English Learners (ELs) and their families.
  • Collaborates with school staff, including administrators, teachers, and support staff.
  • Participates as an active team member in discussions related to ELs.
  • Assists families and students to navigate the school.
  • Ability to master Hmong and English at the native-like level of language proficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Broad vocabulary and in-depth knowledge of grammatical rules in both languages.
  • Good understanding and cultural knowledge of both languages.
  • Ability to work as part of a team. Spirit of collaboration.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret consecutively and simultaneously.
