Provide students academic, linguistic, and cultural support in the classroom and virtual environments.
Facilitate and enhance communication, including translation and interpretation.
Build relationships with English Learners (ELs) and their families.
Collaborates with school staff, including administrators, teachers, and support staff.
Participates as an active team member in discussions related to ELs.
Assists families and students to navigate the school.
Ability to master Hmong and English at the native-like level of language proficiency in oral and written communication.
Broad vocabulary and in-depth knowledge of grammatical rules in both languages.
Good understanding and cultural knowledge of both languages.
Ability to work as part of a team. Spirit of collaboration.
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Ability to interpret consecutively and simultaneously.
