Summary of the position: To guide student toward the fulfillment of their intellectual, physical, and psychological potential.
Qualifications: Appropriate certification as required by the Indiana Department of Education. Ability to plan and organize. Skills in human relations. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of students and parents. Five years of successful teaching experience. Other qualifications as deemed desirable by the School Board.
Supervises: Any person specifically assigned to him/her by the Principal (for example: a student teacher)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Assists in the implementation of policies and/or regulations which are established by the School Board.
o Attends and participates in staff meetings and serves on staff committees.
o Adheres to administrative regulations and directives.
o Cooperates with administrative and supervisory staff in the evaluation process.
o Established and maintained cooperative relations with co-workers.
o Demonstrates professional ethics in activities in school and community.
o Demonstrates respect for the worth and dignity of each student.
o Engages in professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework.
o Assists in the planning and/or sponsorship of co-curricular activities.
o Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
o Cooperates with community agencies as they pertain to classroom activities.
o Demonstrates a positive view of the philosophy and objectives of the school to parents and community.
o Abides by adopted Board of Education policies and procedures.
o Maintains satisfactory records of punctuality and attendance.
o Conducts all school-related activities in a manner that serves as a positive influence on youth.
